A Little Bit About Us
True Life Christian Fellowship (TLCF) is a California nonprofit, I.R.S. 501(3)(c) nondenominational fellowship of seekers and Christians. As the only nondenominational church in the area we draw people from a wide variety of backgrounds, and from across Southern Monterey County and Northern San Luis Obispo County.
More than anything, TLCF seeks to be a family. We believe in prayer, we take praises and prayer requests, we pray for one another, and we reach into and meet needs in one another’s lives.
We are an Elder-led church, but we value the opinion of the whole body on decisions where that is practical and offered. We do not have membership, but we do require at least four months (and maybe more, depending on the position) of regular attendance as well as an application and Board approval before serving in any significant ministry capacity.
We believe in the inerrancy of the entire Bible (and its supremacy in all issues cultural, historical, and scientific when there is a perceived conflict between the two), the blessing and importance of worship, the power of prayer, the goodness of God, and the necessity of being born again to have an eternal relationship with God. We believe God's purpose for us is to live in relationship with Him, and that we are dependent on His Spirit within us to live the life He calls us to live, bearing His image, being salt and light in this world. We hate the devil and his works, and we seek to be God’s hands and feet in setting people free in all areas of their lives. We seed generously into ministries outside of our immediate area, as well as in to needs in the community as we are made aware of them and led by God. We believe that God’s children are to be the expression of Christ’s nature, and the body of Christ at work.
